Standard of Practice for No-Show Appointments
Effective April 12th, 2023

We understand that sometimes emergencies can arise and appointments need to be cancelled. However, repeatedly missing appointments or cancelling at the last minute causes inconvenience and loss to both our clinic and other pet owners in need of appointments. Sadly, this has become a recurrent problem for our practice. Therefore, we have implemented a no-show charge policy.

If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please let us know as soon as possible, at least 3 hours in advance. If you fail to attend your appointment or cancel with less than 3 hours notice, you will be charged a fee equal to the cost of an examination. Extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration but only if the client contacts the clinic. The no-show fee must be paid in advance of any future bookings.

Please note that it is not our goal to collect no-show appointment fees. Our preference is to help as many animals as possible. No-show appointments result in less appointment availabilities . This in turn increases wait times for appointments and increases the risk of referral of our clients to the on-call clinic in the case of emergencies. Clients who repeatedly no-show and new clients will be required to prepay the examination fee. The prepayment will be forfeit in the case of a no-show.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Our goal is to provide the best possible care for your pet, and timely appointments are essential to achieving this. By adhering to this policy, we can ensure that all our clients receive the attention they need in a timely and efficient manner.
